"Material Genome Technology" includes three elements: material calculation and simulation, high-throughput preparation and characterization experiment and material Informatics/database. Through the mutual integration between the three elements, and with the help of artificial intelligence and big data technology, the trial-and-error mode is transformed into an efficient material exploration mode based on material theoretical calculation and prediction firstly and then experimental verification.

 

As one of the three elements of material genome technology, database plays an important role. Firstly, database can provide data storage, display and other functions for high-throughput computing and experiments; Secondly, data mining of big data with artificial intelligence technology, such as machine learning, can guide the design of new materials and accelerate the exploration process; Thirdly, data that have been stored in database can provide reference for new materials. In addition, because our country does not have a mature and large-scale high-throughput combined film database, the novel material information maybe leaked to foreign websites by capturing the search contents; Last but not least, the original data can standardize academic ethics.
